Israel & the occupied Palestinian territory

The Arab Evangelical School in Hebron have recently secured purchase of a new property in Bethlehem, but are now working to re-establish ownership of the Hebron site after an Islamic group called the Tahrir Party attempted to steal it last November. Please pray that they would be successful in this. Encouragingly, the father of one girl in the deaf unit at Hebron School said this at the end of the year: "I used to be a member of Tahrir, but after seeing my daughter blossom in your class for the hearing-impaired, I have decided to leave Tahrir."

Egypt

The staff at Shams El Birr have asked for prayer, that they would be equipped to serve well the disabled children they work with; pray especially for Dr Morcos as he leads the project and for wisdom and discernment in decision-making. Pray too that the children would flourish in the loving and caring environment.

Lebanon

Please pray for stability in the region following the Lebanon-Israel border clash in early August. It is a particularly volatile time as the UN inquiry into the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister, Rafik Hariri, five years ago, is due out soon, and Hezbollah may be implicated - which would increase internal tensions in Lebanon. Please pray for peace, wisdom and justice.

Beit El Nour work with children from a variety of very difficult backgrounds including broken homes, illegal immigration, homelessness and prostitution. Pray for the staff, that they would be able to share the compassion of Christ with the young people, and pray for restoration and wholeness in the lives of many who have been disadvantaged early in life.
